Responsibilities:
β Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
β Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
β Analyze operating costs and other data
β Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
β Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
β Create new recipes
β Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
β Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
β Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
β Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
β Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
β Requisition food and kitchen supplies
β Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
β Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
β Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
β Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
