Position: Construction cost estimator

Wage: $42.00/hour, 30 hours per week.
Job Duties:
· Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings to perform precise material takeoffs,
calculating the exact quantity, size, and type of cabinetry required for kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces.
· Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates covering cabinetry, millwork, countertops,
hardware, and finishes, along with installation labour.
· Interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and site measurements to translate design intent into a buildable, priced package.
· Operate CADD and other computer software systems
· Analyzing project proposals to determine costs and prepare detailed estimates, then
communicating with the project team to clarify scope and details.
· Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients
· Project cash flow and financing requirements
· Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors
And subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
· Meeting with prospective customers on-site or in showroom settings to understand project scope and goals.
· Advise on tendering procedures
· Sourcing and pricing materials from suppliers, cabinet boxes, door/drawer fronts, hardware lines, countertop materials, dry wall and ceiling material.
· Tracking change orders as clients revise selections mid-project, and updating estimates
accordingly
· Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
· Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
· Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
