Job Title: Bus and Transport Mechanic – NOC 72410

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in buses and transport vehicles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel, gas, and EV motors, including brake systems, transmissions, and suspensions.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain hydraulic, air brake, and fuel injection systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and replace faulty engine and mechanical components as needed.
  • Utilize power tools and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs effectively and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electronic diagnostic tools to assess vehicle issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts used in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards for commercial transport vehicles.

 

Wage/Salary: $38.00/hour

Benefits: Extended Health Benefits available after 90 days

Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Skills Requirements

Education: No Minimum Education Requirement (if possessing equivalent experience); Applicable Trade Diploma and Red Seal Certification Desirable

Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable work experience as a Transport Mechanic, Diesel or Bus Mechanic in a post-apprenticeship role; Experience with Prevost diesel engines is a desirable asset

Skills/Licensing: Must be able to use a computer, navigate computerized systems and type using a keyboard; Must be able to lift up to 45kg
