Responsibilities
Tasks
Check alignment specifications on the drilling machines
Check for wear and tear to detect and replace faulty parts of the drill sooner
Ensure all drill bits, end bills, precision cutters and lathe tools are kept sharp
Ensure all the holes, filters and seals in the machine are cleaned
Keep records of maintenance on parts such as fluids, electrical systems and tracks
Manipulate sections of pipes or drill stems at rig floor during drilling and during removal and replacement of pipes, drill stems and drill bits
Write daily basic progress reports
Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials
Clean up rig areas
Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and service equipment
Drive trucks to transport materials and well service equipment
