Tasks:
Read instructions or diagrams and lay out drill patterns.
Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
Operate air-track, rotary, down-the-hole or other drilling machines to drill blast holes or may direct drilling of blast holes.
Operate air-track drilling machines to bore holes in rock or soil at construction sites.
Set up and align drill rigs according to job specifications and site conditions.
Select and attach drill bits and rods depending on the material to be drilled.
Perform routine maintenance.
Load and unload drilling equipment and ensure proper storage of tools and machinery.
Communicate with site supervisors, and other crew members regarding drilling progress and issues.
Maintain records of drilling operations, including depth, type of material encountered, and any difficulties.
Ensure work is performed within project timelines and environmental regulations.
Identify and respond to equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions during operations.
