JOB DETAILS

Workplace information:

·         Field work will be within Lethbridge – Medicine Hat region.

·         On the road: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.

 

Salary: $20.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

 

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time

 

Employment conditions: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime available, Early Morning, Morning

 

Start date: March 1, 2026

Benefits: Other benefits – $100.00/month health spending account will be given after 6 months

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Languages: English

 

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

 

Experience: Experience an asset

 

Work site environment: Outdoors, Wet/damp, Noisy, Dusty, Hot

 

Work setting:

·         Landscape contractor

·         Various locations. Field work will be within Lethbridge – Medicine Hat region.

·         Landscape maintenance

 

Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:

·         Assist with landscape constructions.

·         Tie and secure plants.

·         Weed, prune and trim trees and plants.

·         Cut grass, rake and collect refuse.

·         Remove litter and garbage.

·         Cart and spread topsoil and other materials.

·         Lay sod or seed.

·         Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees.

·         Apply fertilizers.

·         Repair and maintain equipment.

·         Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens.

·         Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.

·         Put up warning signs when needed.

·         Maintain and care for company provided equipment, tools, and vehicles

·         Attend training as requested by management.

·         Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks.

 

Other Specific Tasks:

·         Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.

·         Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawn mower

·         Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls.

·         Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and bushes.

·         Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.

·         Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling

·         Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.

·         Trim shrubs and pull weeds

·         Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping

·         Rake, mulch and prune the grounds as needed.

·         Clean up worksites from debris and machinery

·         Use power tools and machinery when needed.

·         Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts to remove snow.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION

Equipment and machinery experience: Pick-up truck, Sprayer or duster, Weed trimmer/edger

 

Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)

 

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

 

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
