Job Description
- Develop and carry out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
- Lead children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
- Provide children with opportunities to express creativity through arts, music and physical activity.
- Maintain a healthy and secure environment to protect the well-being of the children.
- Assess children’s abilities, needs, and behavioural problems, and discuss progress or problems with parents.
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Organize activities for programs before and after regular school hours as needed.
- Coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants when needed.
Requirement for candidate
- Completion of a 2-year college program in early childhood education
- 2-year Early Childhood Educator experience is preferred.
- Licencing in BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate
- No Criminal Record (Criminal record will be checked thoroughly)
