Clinical receptionist

We are looking for a clinical receptionist to join our team who works at the front desk of
a medical office providing assistance to patients and visitors. Successful condidate is responsible
for maintaining the organization of a medical office, and ensuring that the medical environment
is welcoming, calm, and quiet for patients and their families. Additionally, the applicants are
expected to provide compassionate service to patients while calmly managing a wide array of
tasks.
Responsblities and Duties
 Greet people coming into offices and other establishments, direct them to the appropriate
contacts or services, provide general information in person and by phone, and may
perform clerical duties and maintain front desk security and security access lists
 Schedule appointments, using manual or computerized systems
 Record bookings, handle credit card checks, receive payment, issue receipts.
 Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent
labs delivered by patients
 Issue specimen collection containers to patients as needed
 Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary
 Preparing superbills and specimen labels for next day’s patients
 Track all phone calls that arrive using our general office number
 Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our
patients
 Respond to emails that arrive using the general office email address
Qualifications for Medical Receptionist
 2+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role
 Friendly and compassionate disposition
 Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT billing codes a plus
 Excellent organizational and time management skills
 Strong verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to work independently or as part of a team
 Excellent interpersonal communication skills
