Job Description:

At United Supermarket, we empower our Team Members to make their own decisions, thus creating an environment where people are treated with respect and are highly motivated to excel. We attract people who are passionate about great food, the communities they live and work in, how we treat our planet and our fellow humans – and who want to bring their passion into the workplace and make a difference.

We are currently looking for an E-commerce Web Developer to join our team in London. The E-commerce Web Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing United Supermarket’s online sales platform and related digital systems to support the company’s grocery retail operations and growing online business.

Responsibilities & Duties:

·       Design, develop, maintain and enhance United Supermarket’s e-commerce website and online sales platform to support online grocery sales, product browsing, ordering and customer services.

·       Develop and modify website functionality, including product search, product categories, online product listings, shopping cart, customer accounts, online ordering and other e-commerce features.

·       Maintain and update online product catalogues, including product descriptions, prices, promotions, images, availability and other product information to ensure accurate information is presented to customers.

·       Develop, maintain and update databases supporting the company’s online sales operations, including product, inventory, customer and online order information.

·       Integrate and maintain the e-commerce website with relevant internal systems, including inventory management, POS and order-processing systems, to improve the accuracy and efficiency of online sales operations.

·       Monitor website functionality, performance and system reliability; identify technical problems and troubleshoot issues affecting website accessibility, online orders, product information and customer experience.

·       Conduct functional, integration, regression and usability testing of new website features, system updates and e-commerce functions before implementation.

·       Analyze online sales, inventory, website traffic and customer ordering data using SQL, spreadsheets and other appropriate analytical tools to identify sales trends, product performance and opportunities to improve online business.

·       Prepare and maintain reports on online sales performance, product demand, inventory availability, customer ordering patterns and other e-commerce performance indicators for management review.

·       Analyze sales and inventory information to identify high-performing and slow-moving products, potential inventory discrepancies and product availability issues, and provide data-driven recommendations to management.

·       Work with store management and staff from grocery, produce, meat, seafood and other departments to understand product, inventory and online sales requirements and translate business needs into website and system improvements.

·       Recommend and implement improvements to the online shopping experience, product presentation, ordering process and website functionality based on customer behavior, sales data and technical analysis.

·       Monitor website and database security, data integrity and system performance and implement appropriate updates, corrections and improvements to maintain reliable e-commerce operations.

·       Maintain technical documentation relating to website functionality, database structures, system integrations, testing procedures and implemented changes.

·       Provide technical guidance and support to authorized management and employees regarding the operation of the company’s e-commerce platform, online ordering system and related digital tools.
