Responsibilities:
As an IT Support Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless operation and troubleshooting of computer systems and networks. Your key responsibilities will include:
Oversee the performance and security of game servers and networks, optimizing for low latency and high availability to support uninterrupted online gameplay.
Assist developers and artists in resolving technical issues with game engines, design software, and development platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
Provide specialized support to both in-house team members and, on occasion, external beta testers, diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Implement and monitor regular updates, patches, and security protocols for software critical to game development, ensuring minimal downtime and enhanced performance.
Manage version control systems, such as Git or Perforce, and oversee backup operations to safeguard project data and code assets.
Quickly identify and respond to IT incidents, documenting each case and collaborating with team members to prevent future disruptions.
Assist in the testing, deployment, and maintenance of multiplayer games and online services, ensuring efficient rollout of new updates and features.
Implement basic cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive game data and intellectual property.
Requirements:
Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role
Attributes: Strong client focus, initiative, teamwork, and time management skills
Work Environment:
This is an on-site position, with no option for remote work. The successful candidate will work at our Victoria, BC location.
